1934 – Home Federal Savings Bank is founded.

1937 – Branch office is opened in Austin, MN.

1940 – Branch office is opened in Rochester, MN.

1973 – Branch office is opened in Winona, MN.

1975 – Branch office is opened in La Crescent, MN.

1978 – Second branch office is opened in Rochester, MN.

1990 – Branch office is opened in Albert Lea, MN.

1994 – Home Federal converts from a mutual savings bank to a public stock institution and HMN Financial, Inc. is formed.

1997 – Branch office is opened in Marshalltown, IA.

2006 – Third branch office is opened in Rochester, MN.

2007 – Branch office is opened in Eagan, MN.

2008 – Fourth branch office is opened in Rochester, MN.

2015 – Two branch offices are opened in Kasson, MN.

2018 – Branch office is opened in Owatonna, MN.

2019 - Branch office is opened in Pewaukee, WI
